Theodore L. ("Trey") Goede III
Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Trey Goede founded Affinity Wind, LLC in 2007. He was formerly
Executive Vice President of River City Internet Group, LLC, a
privately-held investment and holding company focused on
developing, owning and operating businesses primarily in the
telecommunications and Internet sectors. While at River City, Mr.
Goede started several businesses related to technology and
telecommunications, including Electric Internet, a Broadband over
Power Line joint venture with a public utility, Ameren
Corporation.
Previously in 1998, he was Vice President of Primary Network,
which Mr. Goede helped develop into one of the nation's largest
regional ISPs before raising over $50 million to fund its growth
to offer local and long-distance telephone and DSL services in
five states. In 1999, Primary Network was recognized as the
fastest growing technology company in the St. Louis area, and the
thirteenth fastest nationally.
Goede was recognized by Fast Forward/St. Louis Business
Journal as one of the publication's “30 under 30” business
people. He was a founding member of the Upstart Technology group,
which ultimately merged into St. Louis Regional Commerce and
Growth Association. Mr. Goede served on Missouri Governor Bob
Holden's Information Technology Roundtable Committee and
contributed to a Battelle Memorial Institute study commissioned
by the RCGA related to technology in the late 1990s. Mr. Goede currently serves on the Advisory Board for Ameren's Pure Power renewable energy program, and is an Executive Committee Member of the Boston College Energy and Environmental Network.
Since 2004, Mr. Goede has been an adjunct professor in the
Entrepreneur Department at St. Louis University, the 16th best
Entrepreneur program in the country. Mr. Goede holds a Bachelor
of Science in Marketing and a Bachelor of Science in Business
Operations and Strategic Management, both from Boston
College.
Jeffrey C. Sanders
Chief Financial Officer
Jeff Sanders is the Chief Financial Officer of Affinity Wind,
LLC, He was formerly Executive Vice President of Liberty
Transnational, Inc., a strategic consulting and advisory firm
focused on business development, mergers, acquisitions,
divestitures, buyouts, restructurings, capital formation, and
other strategic initiatives. He has more than 20 years of
experience as a financier and strategist, having worked as a
senior executive and board member of, and as a banker and advisor
for, a variety of technology-focused businesses. Over his career,
Mr. Sanders has closed $4.5 billion in financing transactions and
maintains relationships with a broad array of investment bankers,
brokers, senior and subordinated lenders, and mezzanine, private
equity and venture capital investors.
Prior to joining Liberty in 2002, Mr. Sanders was a co-founder
and Chief Financial Officer of Millennium Digital Media, LLC,
which he led from startup into a leading provider of broadband
and Internet services with over 500 employees and $120 million in
annual revenue. At Millennium, which is now part of Broadstripe,
Mr. Sanders completed 18 acquisitions and arranged $550 million
in financing from 20 senior and mezzanine lenders and private
equity investors. He also served on Millennium's Board of
directors.
Prior to co-founding Millennium in 1997, Mr. Sanders was
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Charter
Communications, Inc., the nation's third largest cable television
provider. He was the seventh employee to join Charter, which
during his tenure grew through 22 acquisitions, representing $1.6
billion in value, to serve over one million customers in 15
states and generate over $500 million in annual revenue. To
support Charter's growth and development, he arranged over $1.8
billion in financing from a group of more than 100 senior and
mezzanine lenders, public high-yield investors, strategic
partners and private equity investors.
Prior to joining Charter in 1994, Mr. Sanders founded and headed
the US Mergers & Acquisitions practice of Toronto Dominion
Securities. As head of US M&A, he provided advisory and
private equity placement services to firms in a variety of
telecommunications, media and technology sectors. Mr. Sanders
also oversaw TD's $150 million US private equity portfolio, which
included direct investments in portfolio companies as well as
holdings in a number of private equity funds. Prior to founding
the M&A team, Mr. Sanders was a director in TD's
Communications Finance group, where he provided leveraged capital
services to a variety of telecommunications and media clients.
Prior to joining TD, he began his career at Centerre Bank (now
part of Bank of America) where he managed the bank's
relationships with a group of St. Louis-based Fortune 500 and
middle-market firms.
A native Midwesterner, Mr. Sanders graduated from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Summa Cum Laude. He also holds a Master of Business Administration, With Distinction, from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Kenneth R. Stock
Chief Operating Officer
Ken Stock is the Chief Operating Officer of Affinity Wind, LLC. He was formerly an Operations Manager for Dynegy, Inc. at one of the largest coal generation facilities in Illinois, an 1800 MW plant located in southern Illinois. Previously, he was General Manager/President for Geneseo Municipal Utilities, a municipal electric, water and gas utility located in Geneseo, Illinois. Among other duties, he was solely responsible for the planning, development, construction and operation of the Geneseo commercial wind project for over four years. Mr. Stock also procured the largest grant amount ever awarded to an Illinois wind project while arranging for funding support. With his wealth of knowledge and experience, Mr. Stock has been instrumental in the operational and engineering process for Affinity. He has substantial experience with PPAs, transmission interconnection agreements, Midwest Independent Transmission System Operator (“MISO”) market participation, available grants and loan programs, etc.
Prior to Mr. Stock’s experience as an Operations Manager and General Manager, he served as a Field Service Engineer for 10 years, with several electric utility companies, specializing in substation, transmission and distribution systems as well as generation and automation systems.
Mr. Stock is a trained U.S. Army Corp of Engineers Power Engineer and served over eight years of active duty service. He is licensed in Illinois as a Public Water Supply Operator and a Public Waste Water System Operator. In addition, Mr. Stock holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Indiana State University and is currently enrolled in Southeast Missouri State University’s Master of Business Administration program.
